I use YNAB for budgeting. I carry only a few physical accounts. I have a category for Holidays as well as Emergency Fund and work to keep at least a month ahead of the bills. Something we YNABers call the "Age of Money".
I cannot say enough for how this has changed our lives - for the better! And believe me, over the last 40 years I've been to seminars, training, tried different apps, bank apps, spreadsheets, financial advisors, the works. None of it matches YNAB. And do not let its simplicity fool you!
