It's a good interview. Joyce Karam is a good example of the diplomacy the folks in that region of the world have excelled at for centuries.
Israel did not take responsibility for assassinating Count Bernadette in September 1948, either (the chief negotiator for the partition plan), even though it was no secret. It was admitted decades later. Dimona was grudgingly admitted decades later, eventually, although it was an open secret for decades too. So of course Israel is suspect . . . and so is U.S.A.
My concern is that our own nation needs to be reined in. Those folks in that region have a right to be concerned about Israel because it has behaved like a loose cannon, regarding all of them, for 3/4 if a century, by being untrustworthy because of violating agreed upon "rules" (international law, Geneva Conventions) to which it is signatory; and U.S.A. supports and funds Israel when it violates. In other words our nation is not an "Honest Broker" of peace in that region.
The region sees our nation being a bully enabling Israel to be irresponsibly dangerous in their region of the world. Why would the nations in the region not deduce that either Israel or U.S.A. or both, cooperatively, are doing targeted assassinations?
Looking at our national debt who is NOT seriously concerned that our nation is funding other nation's wars?
George Washington was right about our nation needing to mind it's own business, within our own borders - instead of the opposite hemisphere. Why don't we assist nations in our own hemisphere so they can do right by their own people, and keep them at home instead of coming here to live?
Eisenhower was right about the military industrial complex.
Why don't we simply focus on space instead of space AND fighting other nations' battles? Space, alone, is costly enough.

SGT Mary G., politics is never evenhanded and politicians are always lopsided in their decisions. Israel is indeed a loose cannon and with U.S. support Israel is using power to bully liberation organizations of Palestine and eliminate their leaders. Hitler fought to eliminate his adversaries, the Jews and now, Netanyahu is fighting to eliminate Arabs; what's the difference?

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel, the region has become unstable. This was a battle between Israel and Palestine initially, but now it is a war between Arabs and Jews. In the midst of this revenges, innocent people, to include women and children, are being murdered. Is this the cost of retaliations? Israel retaliated against Palestine for the Hamas attack, at first. Then, Hamas retaliated and Isreal vowed to eradicate Hamas by attacking innocent Palestinians. This is the root cause. These vengeful acts triggered the involvement of the Hezbollah. Hezbollah gets its weaponry from Iran and a Hamas political leader is killed in Tehran. Now, Iran wants to drag in the OIC. The involvement of the U.S. in this Middle East crisis has not gone unnoticed begging the question whether a lasting ceasefire can be achieved.
