Correct, SGT (Join to see). Holden’s character in both movies pays the ultimate price.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen, I liked The Bridges at Toko-Ri also. Additionally, I read the book by James Michener.
Remember the family bath scene in the movie? The Japanese family walks in on Holden, Grace Kelly and their children. In the movie, there are two tubs and everyone is wearing something. In the book, there’s one tub, and the Japanese family all completely peel! That’s really why the Americans are so upset! It also shows cultural differences that couldn’t then be properly conveyed on film.

Got to remember, this is when married couples couldn't be in the same bed in movies, so makes all the sense in the world.
