Why should Russia be persecuted for this when in fact, the facts show that the country with the largest number of steroid users is the USA.

1) Steroids are no longer the issue
2) we haven't been caught bribing the testing service
3) seriously? Do you not remember the "female" Soviet athletes who were so hopped up on steroids their GENDER was in doubt?

Sgt Wayne Wood - this may have been true during the Soviet era but the issue now is over a drug that merely protects the heart from damage and diabetes which athletes can develop because of their incredibly active lifestyle. It is not a performance drug and was not listed on the schedule until just a year ago.
