This is an awesome story. I didn't know Canada had an aircraft carrier Fleet until 1970 and Argentina until 1990. I also didn't know the Brazilians trained Chinese Liberation Army Pilots on their carrier. Brazil is in a world of crap now economically and can't afford it.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I know what you mean by a plank owner. I was in an Airborne unit and civil Affairs that was transitioning from non Airborne to airborne and the Battalion Commander used to be a Navy sailor has an enlisted and he was telling us about what the plank owner stands for. Strangely enough, it seems like Navy traditions have been shown to me in one form or another in the last 10 years.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Here is Admiral Mullen in late 2008 with then Captain Conway. Here is another picture of Navy Petty Officers getting the Navy Commendation Medal. The Admiral was not there for that.
