Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist, but in what scenario does "Futures Command" not turn into a cushy 90 million dollar+ pre-retirement GO billet in preparation for follow-on consulting gigs and speaking circuits? What power will it actually have to implement its mission? My fear is it turns into a philosophy on war club at massive taxpayer expense.

Sorry, but you are a bit off! The futures command ropes in all of the capability development Missions at the COE under one roof. This is a good thing, if they truly pull in all the mission as the parochial nature if the branches (especially medical) will be broken.

Knowing the system and Human Nature; it’s a future billpayer for another Great Idea and in the meantime will become as cumbersome and bloated as any other government agency set up to fix such things...we do this over and over again and expect a different endstate...definition of insanity; maybe-I hopenit works this time
