Since this nails those buying $500K house and up, it seems to me that it hardly benefits the wealthy ... or penalizes the middle class and poor. Great change! One would think liberals would be 100% in back of it. Probably would be if they were the ones that proposed it ...

SSgt Ray Stone - And?

1) Why should I subsidize your poor financial planning?
2) How exactly is this a "War" on the Housing Industry?

SSgt Ray Stone - I'm glad to be neither!
Unless by racist you mean an individual who wants limited government then by all means yes, funny how Liberals confuse the actual definition to what they want it to be.

Lol...you forgot the humor tag! "Specifically, the plan would allow interest to be deducted only on the first $750,000..." The war has begun.

Now, I will concede that the $10,000 cap on the amount of state and local taxes that can be deducted on a federal return will hurt folks in predominantly democratic states hell bent on socialism, but at least now the rest of the country doesn't have to pay for their fiscal irresponsibility. Hell, it's a win-win! I apologize in advance to my fellow vets that live in California.

Exactly. Sorry California and New York. You elected your leaders that set your tax levels. Now you have to live with them. Also, I don't know too many middle class families that can afford a million dollar home.

Besides which, under the finalized bill, you can still deduct up to 10K in local property and state and local income taxes.
