I have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful to be an American citizen and that I was born in the greatest free nation in the world. I am thankful for being raised by the most honorable man and finest human being that I have ever known, Brig Gen James Francis McBarron. I may not have been his natural child, but he loved me unconditionally and instilled in me the values that I hold so dear, my love for nature, and my integrity. I may not have understood everything you ever taught me until after you left this world but your love, your words, and your wisdom will forever live on inside of me. Rest in Peace, Daddy. You may not be here in the physical world but you live on nonetheless. I'm thankful for my mother and the inner strength she passed along to me and for her love and support during my darkest days. I am thankful for my husband for his strength when I am weak, for his logic when I am trapped in emotion, and for his love. I am thankful for my children, who's smiles and laughter can brighten my darkest days. I am thankful for my sisters, my nieces and nephews, and the rest of my family. I am thankful that our country has a fighting chance to be restored to the greatness and principles that it was founded upon. Last, but certainly not least, I am thankful to be the person that I am today. Thanks for sharing, Mikel.

I am thankful the good Lord let me be around another holiday season to watch my kids getting closer to college and meeting great people here on RP. And getting to see family that I haven't seen in a long time. And my wife enjoyed herself despite losing her grandmother and uncle in the last six months. I am truly blessed

Thanks for sharing the news that Purple Heart Acres is looking to adopt the Fuller family and they are raising funds for a bone marrow transplant for the daughter Layla SPC Mathew Brady
It is sad yet hopeful that "Layla Sands' perfect bone marrow match has eluded her for five years and her mother, Jen Fuller, has organized countless bone marrow registration drives, personally placing swabs inside the mouths of hundreds."

With the step dad in Afghanistan I've been doing all I can to help them. They leave this Saturday for MN for the consult on the rare type of bone marrow transplant procedure she has to go through
