I'm not a real fan of this approach... but then again I'm one of the "Gray Beards" and my opinion does not matter... If this is what the Army's leadership is taking us too there is not much that can be done short of outright rejection and I don't see that happening. When we needed an Army in the post Viet Nam era we trained it, equipped it and sent it to Desert Storm where they proved their mantel by kicking Saddam's ass out of Kuwait. That is the Army that morphed into the solders that performed so well in Afghanistan and Iraq. So lets see where this next chapter takes us...

LTC Marc King - The IDF trained women for combat. Admittedly, they have a more difficult National Defense scenario than we do. Nonetheless, they proved that women can sustain themselves in Combat - as we did in OIF/OEF when women were exposed to combat regardless of what their MOS was. I really don't care who or what sex you are - just be able to do the following and I will not be concerned. However, should you not be able to perform in the crucible of combat - then you should be discharged immediately.

I realize there are other militaries that have women in there infintry and speacial forces. But America isn't the same as all the other countries that have militaries because we are still an all volunteer force. So are they really going to be able to do all that is expected without dropping down the expectation. I just think no one has really thought this all the way through. There is a reason not all of us are infintary even though we go through basic learning the fundamental of being able to be infinatery. Maybe I'm still old school on the whole thing.
