I have read this article as well as the main article and numerous responses and tweets. I even read one that stated, if there's no draft they will throw away their draft card. As if that's all that's needed to not be drafted, if a draft is called in to play. And as far as millennials go, some of the best and most courageous warriors over the last 15+ years have been millennials. And if the draft is returned due to the current state of world affairs, Vets young and old, will busting down the doors of every recruiting office in the country to re-up. And not because we crave war, but because we crave peace.

Boomer fought the draft very haRd some.eve. developed .magical bone spurs. People.even evaded the draft in the civil.war and WWI. Drafts especially to fight optional wars are always unpopular.

That was a truly dumb response to a valid observation. It's clear that most millennials would be classified 4F if the draft were reinstated today. No, that doesn't in any way demean those millennials who are currently defending the nation. On the contrary, it highlights just how exceptional they are. Just look at the surveys documenting how pervasive obesity is among this generation. Listen to DoD comments supporting her assertion. Look at the low participation rates in atheletics. No, the idiots who crafted this essay are merely on a witch hunt in an attempt to silence a very effective voice of conservatives

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Go talk to some, draft discussion is so remote right now there are no formal studies, but I can point out that too many of my generation riot over allowing conflicting viewpoints freedom of speech, or perceived injustices that I can't imagine what they would do if they were forced to actually defend what they don't believe in. Thankfully it is all BS as we are not going to see a draft without a major change in the international geopolitical situation.

I talk to some regulary. Raised two of them in fact to adulthood the eldest is a NG officer. I remember riots by the boomers over the draft. Personalyl I would demonstrate again the draft if they pushed for it purely on moral principles

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - I don't think we're talking about opposition to the draft. We're talking about qualification for military service. The most recent figures I've seen show that only 28% would qualify.

A good chunk of the disqualification are not mission related at all like tattoos and some like chIold hood ADD treatment are simply idiotic. Go back to the standards last time we had a draft and the numbers would change drastically. Being fat did nit stop Uncle Sam from sending you "greetings" unless you were politicaly connected..

Hahaha! Do tell us what American generation embraced the draft? She's a millennial that would crap her pants in front of an old fashioned Drill. She's mentally and physically weak and she's claiming her peers, male and female, are also weak. But hey, she implies her generation are a bunch of weakling whiners that would fail a physical and rather run to Canada or Mexico to avoid getting drafted. I applaud the millennials that stomped on her basically saying speak for yourself and your elitist friends.
