On this day in history, the Battle of The Bulge began. It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region of Wallonia in eastern Belgium, northeast France, and Luxembourg, towards the end of World War II. 19,276 Americans were killed in action, and many spent their Christmas over seas away from their families.
