These stories are such a double-edged sword. Part of me is happy to see the service member finally get the award but then another part of me is pissed off wondering why it takes 70 years to do so. I know things like this takes a long time but 70 years? That is not a timely turn around regardless of the reasons why.

I agree Ben, what was the hold up?! Pretty cut and dry...injured by enemy attack in combat= Purple Heart...nothing to even question there. I am glad that paratrooper got what he earned, but wow that should've happened 70 years ago.
