I was pro-abortion before I recognized my need for a Savior in 1987. By the grace of God He changed my heart with a few years of my conversion from spiritual death to life. Now I am pro-life from conception through adoption to after death. Ron Sider’s 1977 book Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger issued a challenging call for Christians to both declare a biblical gospel and demonstrate compassionate care for the poor. His message resonated with a generation of young evangelicals. He went on to form Evangelicals for Social Action, which championed social causes. He recently spoke at the Evangelicals for Life event, held in conjunction with the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
