While serving with the 5th Special Forces in 1967, this happy attitude toward members of the military did not exsist. I am glad we are proud of our service members today. America should be ashamed of the way they treated us. What a dark time in our society. Many will tell me to get over it but the older I get, the more determined I am to never let society forget this tragedy.

MAJ David Vermillion, You Are Absolutely Correct Sir!
The manner in which Vietnam Veterans were treated was Absolutely Appalling!
In 1970, as a 14 yo, many Americans were Peacefully Protesting the US Continued Involvement in Vietnam. I believed this continued involvement was Politically Motivated.
I Never Disrespected the Brave Soldiers who were DRAFTED to fight an “unfightable fie”! I would like to Personally Thank You Sir for Your Service in the Vietnam War.
I spent my Freshman year of College with Vietnam Veterans ‘blowing’ their GI bill money. These young men NEVER spoke of the horrors of the Vietnam War...
As an Army Veteran and second generation of My family to have served on Active Duty, I would like to Personally say:
“WELCOME HOME”!

I Actually had a Biology teacher in High School who was a Vietnam Veteran. He was an awesome teacher! He even showed my class black & white film of her experiences as a Crew Chief on a Chopper. Powerful message within actual Vietnam War History.
As far as teachers being “drugged up ex-hippies”, I did NOT have this personal experience. The Vietnam Veteran teachers I had in High School 1972-74, were intelligent Combat Veterans. Their ‘first-hand’ experiences were Not wasted in My classrooms. Furthermore, I Was a Drug consuming Hippie! I was protesting peacefully for the US to Stop Drafting Our Men into an endless war for Political reasons.MAJ (Join to see)

I don't think you can honestly refer to these as parachute jumps or drops anymore. These are paragliders. They are in controlled flight. Some even strap an engine to their backs and that's powered flight technically more advanced than anything the Wright brothers accomplished.

Crazy and insane, reminds me of the 1970's when SF was experimenting with modified parachutes to see which worked best for quick and fast jumps, both SF and Seals competed against each other with equal number of injuries. Funniest was one SF guy that was injured and later jumped again and found his TIMEX watch on his second jump and it still worked.
