When I was at Yale in the 1970s, DKE was banned from the campus for its bad behavior. No loss to the campus then, and none now.

This doesn't have anything to do with the government, the Constitution, libel, slander or due process... this is a private group that gets to make decisions about who it allows to join their private group... Like the Shriner's or Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts or the Free Masons. I'm not sure what the issue is here.

Sgt Wayne Wood - Sure, I remember. They were accused of rape - to the police - and they were harmed by them. There is no government involvement in this - that's the difference. The list isn't going to the cops or anywhere else - it's not even a list of people who are accused of anything - just a list of persona non grata. No one's livelihoods are threatened in any way.

This is a group that has an internal list of people who it doesn't want around - that's it. They aren't taking any action against these persona non grata except to not let them in their club.

I completely understand the dangers of false accusations - especially in this highly charged environment, but this isn't that.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - making it public is not 'internal'. and if you believe this happens in a vacuum and there won['t be possible future repercussions for these young men you are living in a fantasy world

Sgt Wayne Wood - Perhaps you would be good enough to point out where in the article it states that the list was made public. I've read it several times, as well as several associated articles, and can find no such assertion.

Sgt Wayne Wood - I don't think they'll be any more repercussions for these folks than there are for the list of folks on my personal list of people I don't associate with.
