SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I saw the report released by the World Health Organization on this last week. The virus is transmitted through a bite by the Egyptian mosquito and thus far no cases of this have happened in N. America except for those that visited the area. A bite from an infected mosquito can lead to encephalopathy in new borns. These children will never be able to care for themselves. It's very sad.
There are no vaccinations for this and prevention thus far is avoiding being bitten, teaching about how to prohibit their propagation through limiting sources of standing water and spraying to kill adult mosquitos.

CPT (Join to see) thanks for the educational response, I hope this epidemic is resolved before it catches fire and destroys a lot of human life.

Relocation of at-risk family members seems to be a nice idea on the surface SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I hope that at risk family members are not grouped with other at-risk families but instead they are "quarantined" and transported separately to reduce risk of exposure and transmission.
