Do you think they will send her the newest female Infantry enlisted Soldiers? She will probably be a Major by the time they graduate. If they did do that, would it cause public outcry of separating females into a single company. I see it as good mentorship. This is going to be a rocky start for these females as they are going to be the first to break the ice and expand the female presence in a male dominated world. Female NCOs are needed. I do not believe a female NCO should be allowed to branch transfer even if they do Infantry OSUT. Being a squad leader comes with experience and time, not rank.

I'm thinking that this evolution needs to take some lessons from the COHORT program. I also believe that the Army also needs to take a look at the lessons learned from the first couple of years of Ranger School, when units were trained as a whole, instead of individually.
What I also see here is that there is going to develop a larger Leadership issue than what the Army and our Government is expecting. What I understand from conversations with female NCOs, both active and retired, that a number of well qualified, both physically and mentally, want nothing to do with this experiment. Another item that I would like to know, who is CPT Griest mentor/guru, this individual needs to be out in the open.
What amazes me the most is that with all of the experience that the US Army has with "social experiments" that in this case we have failed to apply the lessons learned from past experiences, especially in the area of Leadership.

LTC Royal Brown III - Thank you, you just reminded me about a good friend of mine. I wonder what Nancy Mace might have to say about this whole thing.
I am also curious, does anyone know if GEN Dunwoody has made a public comment about this?
1SG (Join to see) - Sparky, what is the word from our fellow Paratroopers?
By the way Congratulations to you and your crew of soldiers, keep taking care of them and they will take care of you.

I'd never go to Ranger School. Not because I don't think I'd pass, but because I find no purpose in me going...

1SG (Join to see) - Any Army school which makes you a better soldier is worth attending. I believe it would be desirable for all Infantrymen to attend Ranger school. Why do you say there is no purpose in attending?
