Senior Trainer, Mortar (2121-009)
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:
Provides technical and tactical advice and training on 81mm and LAV-M 120mm Mortar weapon systems to Ministry of National Guard Indirect Fire Infantrymen, Officers, and NCOs. Provides advice and assistance to personnel in planning and coordinating training. Evaluates the conduct of individual, collective, tactical, and live fire training.​

Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Teach, coach, and assist mortar platoon-level and below leaders on doctrinal responsibilities.
2. Teach, coach, and assist in planning, preparing, and executing battle focused collective training.
3. Teach, coach, and assist mortar platoon-level and below leaders in the planning and conduct of mortar gunnery.
4. Identifies training aid requirements and submits requests for fabrication and or support.
5. Prepares and reviews Lesson Outlines, Lesson Plans, Student Handouts, and Practical Exercises.
6. Coaches, trains, and assists leaders in planning, coordinating, and delivering mortar fires in support of maneuver operations.
7. Conducts formal and informal After Action Reviews (AAR).
8. Performs other mission related tasks as required.

A. Education Level: High School Graduate required; Associate’s Degree of higher preferred. US Army 11C BNCOC/ALC or USMC 0341 SNCOASC Graduate required; US Army 11C ANCOC/SLC or USMC 0341 SNCOADEP preferred. Infantry Mortar Leader Course Graduate preferred. Army Instructor Course or USMC Weapons & Tactics Instructor Course Graduate preferred. US Army Tank (A8/K8), US Army BFV (J3), US Army Stryker (R8) or USMC LAV-25 Master Gunner Course Graduate highly preferred.

B. Experience: Former SSG/SSgt required; Former SFC/GySgt preferred. 8+ years experience in Army or Marine Corps mortar positions with 2+ years successful service as a mortar section sergeant required; 2+ years as a mortar platoon sergeant preferred. Extensive Live Fire experience required. 2+ years Observer/Controller/Trainer service preferred. Recent combat experience preferred.

C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability, requirements: Subject matter expert in planning, preparation, and execution of mortar gunnery from crew/squad through platoon level. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work in and adjust to the customs and courtesies of the Host Nation Country. Windows & MS Office Suite Programs proficient. Possess a valid driver’s license.
