Hello all.
Anyone want to chime in on formatting ideas for resumes???
As seen on my profile, I retired from the USAR in 2012 (9yrs AD within USASOC/USACAPOC) and retired from Fed Law Enforcement in 2011. Over the last 3yrs I’ve been revamping my education in conflict resolution/soc service. But I miss “the work” in DoD. I want to apply for contract jobs in EUCOM, CENTCOM, and in Afghanistan. I just don’t have a good idea of how to format my resume for contractors like L3, Booze-Allen, and Ratheon. I have something of a bizarre mil career as both a former USAR CMO officer as well as a stint on AD as a FA40 space systems officer and would like to showcase them UP FRONT. Plus - I got dirty as an NTC “Aug” O/C for maneuver spt (CMO) for a year. A job in Graf or Hoehnfels would ROCK! I got SAND in my SHOES and Wanderlust!

Just a short note most employers want a short but sweet resume. Coverage and then a one page resume. Unfortunately this at times cannot be done, make your job descriptions short. We train our veterans, when Applying for a job, to put whatever job experience they have had , on the resume that relates specifically what they are applying for

It may sound too simple, but if you "Google: resume formats, you are sure to find exactly what you want. I have.

I agree Senior Chief, Simple is usually the best idea. The more ive done that the more i realize i need to be far more specific with my mil experience. Time to dig out my OERs!

MAJ Keira Brennan - If you use them, provide a concise aggregate presentation in your resume.
