I have been interested in reclassing to EOD for a while now. I went to retention today since my reenlistment window opens in a few months and fount out that 89D has a shortage for E5s. My career counselor is not sure if 89D is a packet Mos since the SORB website no longer lists it. We are trying to figure out if it is still a packet Mos or if I will have to wait and reenlist for it. Thank you.

Not a packet mos anymore. It’s availble for reclass if you can get a school date

Right now they have an in call for E5s. My reenlistment window doesn't open until September so I'm sure they will fill their slots by then haha. Thank you for the answer.

Well it’s not an issue having an in call there’s usually quite a bit in calls across all MOS’s I’ve found that the MOS’s I did want to reclass in it was damn near impossible to get a school date.

I have been talking to an eod recruiter from bragg and he said that IT IS and application mos. just curious if you ended up going through with it or not.
