OUTSTANDING!! I was looking for the "mulberry" docks they floated over across the channel (England to France) that off loaded all the heavy gear ..that whole ordeal and all it took boggles the mind.

These are what is/was left of the Brits mulberry docks ( took this in 2009)..you can still see some of what they constructed a ways out there...the pieces laying on the beach were washed up over time...65 years ain't too shabby :)

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - It really is when you consider the storms..waves etc over all that time in the channel...and I guess to some degree the ebb and flow of the tides..the day I took this the tide was out ( lucked out) ... pretty sure this was " Gold" beach...one of the 2 that were assigned to the Brits on D-Day.....all 5 of the beaches have their own museums...first time I ever saw (up close and personal) a bangalore explosive charge
