This is a continuation of the Orion SPacecraft Launch Sequence where the craft is entering the earth's atmosphere at some 20,000 mph and there is a Plasma Trail of hot ionized gas surrounding the capsule.
The craft is basically in a free fall at this point and the sequence continues with the parachutes opening in its sequence to slow the craft to 20 mph...into a soft landing near the recovery vessel... This is about a 5-minute sequence from Earth re-entry to touchdown...
