My window for re-enlistment has opened up but I would like to re-class and go to a reserve unit is this possible? Or is it one or the other because I believe the only FA unit close to home is about twelve hours away

The reserves don’t have any FA, but the National Guard does. Your post likely has both NG and Reserve recruiters whose sole job is to recruit transitioning active duty service members to their ranks. Speak with your transitions office and they may have a POC who can provide you far more accurate guidance than I can. Good luck.

I’m not aware of any Reserve artillery units. If part-time and artillery are must haves, check out the National Guard.
