I am a Loadmaster for the Air National Guard and I am in a job I can retire from. Yes it has me set for life but being 24, almost 25 I am wondering if it is 1. Too late to change. 2. What does it take to go pursue that job. 3. How to transition from Air National Guard to Active Duty Army if I did up and pursue the Army MOS.

Yeah you got it good and don't know it, to be a 13Foxtrot, I guess you don't like off duty, enjoy crappy food in crappy locations, sleeping in Humvees. The Army doesn't believe in hotels, comfort, or anything else till you get to flag rank.

See if you can land a TACP or combat control gig in the AF. You can also go 13f and get airborne or ranger if that is something you might want to do

My uncle retired as a Chief as a Loadmaster out of the KS ANG. If you change from AF to Reg Army, make sure if you would have to go through Boot again. I was told, by an Army recruiter, that most AF AFSCs have to redo Boot - the only exceptions were SOF & SecForces because their daily jobs were still similar to Army life.
How long have you been in?

I have no issue with repeating basic, but I'm also considering 18X, or maybe even the CCT of TACP pipeline. Just gotta keep working my job and train and condition myself. But I feel as if I am sitting back and settling for something that I may regret missing out on later in life.

SSgt (Join to see) - dude, if you can get in a pipeline, kick that ASS!!! I have heard that TACP is implementing new training that the other SOF fields are not - not exactly sure what it was. You know how those FB groups can be w/ the hearsay.

Why would you want to go to the Army after the AF. Just trying to get a grip on that.

MSgt John McGowan - I had attempted to join the Air Nat'l Guard, first, but that recruiter up an vanished at the first sign of difficulty. So I talked to an Army Nat'l Guard recruiter - both of my cousins were in at the time. One has since retired & the other is in line for LtCol.
