I am applying for WOFT for AD Army. This is a rough draft of my letter of why I want to be a WO. Any insight, please?
Following in the footsteps of great men and women that have filled the Warrant Officer Corps since its inception in 1918 would be an honor and a privilege. I want to join the ranks of these consummate professionals who are united in one purpose: serving our wonderful country.
I desire to dedicate my life to something bigger than myself and to serve as a Warrant Officer alongside others with the same passion and who will challenge me to be my best.
I have been thrown many curveballs throughout my life but the constant through it all has been a standard that I do not let myself fall beneath: striving to be my absolute best. However, no one can be there best alone. Both personally and professionally, I have found that I become a better person when I surround myself with people who are confident, stronger and more talented than myself.
I have been fortunate to hold a variety of leadership positions throughout my life. I have served in leadership at my church in multiple roles, been certified to train emergency service dispatchers, and managed two businesses. In each of these opportunities, I find that embracing challenges is more easily accomplished alongside a dedicated team of individuals coming together with the same goal. A large part of being a leader is not forcing a team to get behind your plan, but cultivating a united environment. I envision these leadership skills I have acquired will not only contribute but will be tested and will grow in the Warrant Officer Corps.
Coming from a family with a long line of military service, the pride in our nation and the call to
serve our country is rooted in my foundation. The Army is where I choose to devote my skills, my passion, and growth. It is where I will be able to hone self-discipline, confidence and where I can devote my best to my country. With a loving wife of five years and each member of my family backing my decision to join the military, I humbly submit my application for the United States Army Warrant Officer Flight Training.

I've read a lot of these. This one looks pretty good, focusing on leadership and Soldiering and not on "I want to be a pilot" helps a lot. I assume you are street to seat, most of the non prior service tend to talk about being a pilot which does not read as well to the board. Good luck!

Overall it looks good Josiah. However, ensure this doesn’t exceed one page in length once it’s on MS Word, mainly since the board has to go through a lot of files in a short period of time. There are a few errors as well (there, their) that need correcting (paragraph 2). Otherwise, best of luck for your packet!
