Has anyone ever been assigned to JCSE, JCU, WHCA, or AWG? If so, what's day to day life like?

Has anyone ever been assigned to JCSE, JCU, WHCA, or AWG? If so, what's day to day life like? Deployments, field time, etc.. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to broaden my skills and become a better asset to the Army as a whole. Thanks

It is the same as an enlisted Soldier in a regular Army unit. The only added benefit is when you're required to wear civies for missions (the DoD will offer a stipend for it).

There is no field time with WHCA, depending on where your get put in WHCA you can either be gone all the time on missions, or be a non-travel person. With you being a SFC the chances are high you would be traveling a lot as a AVPCO or APCO.

I’m reclassing to 25B this October and my next plan is to apply for WHCA. Will i be able to opt in for non-travel? I would prefer to just avoid 24 TDY while in WHCA if it is possible

SGT (Join to see) as a 25B no you will be traveling a lot. CONUS and OCONUS sorry there is no getting around that. Secret Service, Press and Staff need their internet to do what they do.
