There's a chance that I may PCS to Corpus Christi Texas NAS. Anyone been? Advice on housing? Where to/not to live?

I'm in the Guard and there's a possibility that I could pick up orders down in Texas at the Naval Air Station. To my understanding, there's no housing on post for me so I was wondering if anybody has lived around the area and could give me some advice on where or where not to live?

There is lots of vacant housing on base, I work at CCAD, which is on NASCC. Call ahead and find out when you are notified where your going. Don't worry everything will be fine..

SSG, I know they have barracks buildings on post, but I have a dog and barracks life would be kind of difficult for him. Do you know if they supplement something similar to apartments that allow pets?

Check housing on base. If none available, there are plenty of pet friendly places to live here. We have single civilians, that I work with, living on base. housing here..Call ahead..
