I'm prior service Army Reserve (8 years) and just joined the Air National Guard. I'm thinking I want to do it Active Duty and work in the missile fields, but it's probably too late for that now. Anyone with experience (recruiting experience) have any advice? I heard Active Air Force isn't too accepting of prior service, and I really don't want to start the process of a conditional release. Thanks.

Well, you made it into the Air Guard, so you're half way there. Only way to find out about it being too late for going AD is to talk with an AF AD Recruiter to see if you can get the ball rolling.

ANG isn't a bad way to go if you apply yourself. And you can always try to go for an AGR tour. You might even try the "Space Force", although I have no idea what that entails.

8 years is too late for E4.
8 years is the RCP for E4 on active duty.
