Why did the required promotion points for SGT and SSG drop so low for 35F’s ?

In my entire 6 years in the Army, points for SSG have been at 14/15 and with the exception of a 6 month period, points for 5 were less than 200.

I employed you to look at the strength report. Until recently, our strength at those grades were 73% for E5 and 62% for E6 mainly because people were getting out and chasing the 3 letters and 6 figures

I didn’t look at it that close SSG I also thought that retention would be better during COVID-19

It's getting better right now due to COVID, but even with everyone getting the ETPs for PME to get promoted, we simply are robbing peter to pay paul (promoting an under strength SGT population to fill an under strength SSG population).

Historically, this MOS has had a hard time retaining talent, and that's been true for nearly two decades.

More like not many want to be 35f’s anymore.
