What's it like being a support mos in group? On orders for a group position. Sot-a?

I was in 101st Sustainment at Campbell. To me it was ok, I felt like I started my career with a Dog and Pony Assignment (Ft. Bragg) and ended my career with one (Campbell). There are a lot of advantages to being stationed there. The Nashville area really welcomed me in after retirement.

I just left my SOT-A team after 5 years at 7th. Yes, you're a support MOS, but in my experience you'll be held in higher esteem than the other MOS's but that's because SOT-As are expected to not slow down the ODA. Not sure how things are going to be now that the Stan is dwindling, but expect a good time if you work hard.

Edit for clarification and wording: the higher esteem from working side by side with the teams, but also comes with higher expectations.
I did not mean to minimize the importance of the other MOS's, as they are equally important and if the soldier works hard the SF dudes will see it, respect it, and reward it.

I was a part of 1ST Log in Vietnam and being stationed at Long Binh Post ( near Bien Hoa air base).
Without support groups no food, vehicles, weapons, ammo, fuel, showers etc you get the point.
We forget about how General Patton couldn't understand why General Eisenhower was made the
the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe during WW II. It was because he was a logistical expert.
Getting from point A to point B. And when he became President he is the one that pushed for our
current Interstate System because if our country was ever under attack we would have a great road
system to move our military around the country. (remember the cold war)
