If you mean that you're reclassing, you don't get to choose your follow on assignment, so what is "currently" available is a moot question. Just update your ASK and if there's an opening there you may get it as a follow on assignment.
42A work literally everywhere. Every single battalion size element has a 42A and many smaller detachments, Joint branch and joint nation assignments do as well. I believe it is the single most widely dispersed MOS in the Army. I might be wrong about that, but it's hard to imagine an MOS that can be stationed in more locations than a 42A

About the same as an E4 in the 42A world.
Just with a little more responsibility and maybe a subordinate or two.
Life doesn't change much for 42As.

42A's can pretty much get stationed anywhere. As for the first two questions...yes and yes.
