I've heard 2 different versions of this, one is that Chaplains and Chaplain Candidates attend DCC in order to attend CH-BOLC. The other is that CH-BOLC is the only course that they attend. Can someone shed some light on this, I just want to know what to expect as I am due to commission next week. Thank you.

As for the Army, there is no direct commission course as it relates to a Chaplian. The only course for your commission is CHBOLC as a Chaplain.

1LT (Join to see) you may want to download the chaplain candidate app that explains all of this in greater detail

I have a BN Chaplain at CHBOLC right now, there was nothing about a 'Direct Commission Course.' In fact, this is the first I have ever heard of such a course.

CH (CPT) (Join to see) Thank you, I thought that was the case, but I have a family member (Medical Service Corps) who is adamant that Chaplains and candidates had to go through a Direct Commission Course at Benning or Sill, much like the AMEDD do before CHBOLC. Thank you for the confirmation.

No problem, I believe it may be a matter for AMEDD & JAG. CHBOLC has it's own Chaplain Initial Military Training portion for the first several weeks, including introduction to military culture, physical fitness, and basic Soldier skills, minus the weapons training and qualification.
