Pretty easy 8 weeks you will be in AIT with soldiers straight from basic. You have to take 3 PT test 2 diagnostics 1 record. Pt is 4 days a week and was very early started at like 4 am. Depending on your instructors at the schoolhouse it can be like prison during the school day you have to march the AIT soldiers to lunch you're not allowed to leave for lunch and you might not be able to go to the convenience store. They won't allow you to have any beverages or snacks in the class only water and it has to be in a clear container. Other than that you are free friday after final formation until Sunday evening formation. Don't get caught with alcohol they will do random room inspections

It’s been a few years since I graduated AIT but training happens in Ft. Sam in San Antonio. Sam is the home of all this medical branch in the military. When I went through we spend most of our time in either a classroom or a mock dental clinic. In the classroom we learned about dental instruments, infection control stuff, etc. In the clinic we practiced passing instruments to the provider and prepping materials for use. We also practiced taking dental x rays.
We had a “field exercise” for a few days that focused on basic tactics. I don’t remember the exact length but it was under 3 days.
Prior service soldiers were generally required to be at formations with us except for PT and the after class formation. They mostly avoided the weekend games we would sometimes play.

1LT (Join to see) thanks for all of the information. Only other thing I was curious about, was the college credit. How much of the training will translate to credit for school, roughly?

That will vary depending on the school you apply to. You can take your JST to the education center and they can give you a better answer on what will transfer to a college degree.
