What is the waiver for? A recruiter can say a lot, but even they have to report what it is to higher, and wait for a response to come back. Can’t say I’ve heard of anyone needing a month to get one, but medical and prior “mistakes” wouldn’t be surprising to keep one in a hold status for a time longer than usual. Help yourself by listing the following:

1. Any medical issues (don’t go in detail, general terms only) there are recruiters and senior leaders here who can pick up on certain words and tell you good actionable info. DO NOT openly post it!

2. Prior “mistakes”. IF you have one or some, DO NOT list them publicly. If contacted privately again speak in general terms, and DO NOT LIE....they will find out anyways and it won’t be a good look for you even in the civilian world.

3. What MOS/Rating were you looking for? Some jobs can take time to fill based on background checks, overstrength issues, a need to fill another MOS (for ex I wanted to be 11BP Airborne Infantry. I was denied due to flat feet, even though a few other cats I went with made it with flat feet. They were short on light and heavy wheel mechanics at the time and were trying to steer me that way). I also asked for a medical MOS and was told “quota was made, so I couldn’t pick that....back to being a mechanic. I became a MP which was the best thing smokin both then and now. For whatever branch you’re thinking of joining research at least FIVE MOS/Ratings you would be interested in doing, rank them, and go for it. If they tell you no, tell them to contact you when they’re open.

4. Remember this seriously!! IF you get the answer you’re looking for, get the MOS/Rating you’re looking for, and get a date for shipping out of MEPS, DO NOT.....I SERIOUSLY MEAN DO NOT fall into the trap of “getting that last drink in, smoke that last bit of bud or anything else, getting branch tats”, or anything that could jeopardize your ship date. You will see recruits who will do some or ALL THREE the night(s) before shipping thinking no one will find out. You WILL be found out, and again the repercussions are not pleasant, and you’ll have a lot of folks let down and you won’t be able to recover.

Best of luck to you in whatever branch (Army of course) you choose. I could be mistaken, but the Army is the only one that can guarantee you your MOS before you ship (unless something crazy comes up), but check on that.

It has been over a month. Its for LSC which is a rash I guess. I didn't know tell i got to meps. i went to my doctor and they couldn't find anything. I went to 2 outside doctors and they said the same thing. When MEPS send me to get checked on the doctor said he didn't see anything but wrote something else down, it was me and another guy. so i wasn't even able to ask question.

Johnathon Greer - I forget how to tag folks but look up SSG(P) Thomas Livingston, SGM Marquez, there are many more, but I remember those two in particular being SSG(P) Livingston is a living and breathing regulation master (I’m NOT joking either), SGM Marquez takes no shit even though he’s retired and hasn’t forgotten where he came from. He’ll light some fires for you if you’re honest and square with him. Look both up and PM both. You’ll be glad either way

There is a problem with urinalysis results. It is mepcom wide. Unfortunately, the Army put in a requirement for urinalysis results to come back before submitting a waiver. The back log caused a huge delay. We were just notified that we are now able to submit waivers. Your waiver probably has not been submitted. Ask your recruiter if this was the issue and ask them to email MEPS to request the waiver be pushed.
