As a new and an experience 79S, what were some of your duty locations? At the time you finished 79S school how soon did you find out where your new duty location was? At anytime in your career as a 79S did you have an option of where you went?

You can be assigned anywhere there is an Army battalion sized element of around 300 or more. Any time you go to training it is TDY Enroute and you'll find out several months before your school starts. There are many opportunities to apply for nominative assignments in this career field. The Enlisted Marketplace will take over most assignments for most MOS's in the near future though

SGT (Join to see) it doesn't take but a few weeks at most - once it's complete.
These are questions that you really should have asked your Career Counselor before putting your packet in. You need to go sit down with your Senior Career Counselor and have them explain all the quirks in our field because it's managed completely different from other fields. I could spend a half hour talking in person about all the important differences in our field.
