I'm currently back planning for a career goal I want to achieve. My goal is split into 3 fractions (SFAB, 920B WO and 90A. I can not find the requirements to become a 90A which is my 3rd fraction. Anyone who can help out it would be most helpful. Thank you in advance.

To become a 90A, you will need a college degree, and a commissioning source (OCS, ,ROTC) to commission as a 2LT, complete BOLC for Ordnance, Transportation or Quartermaster, become a 1LT(P) in one of those basic branches and go to 90A CCC.

Given the time required to become a 920B (must be at least E5(P) with ALC complete, then complete WOCS and WOBC), you might be better off just choosing one of the two routes, officer or warrant officer, instead of both.

Exactly, WO and Officer are two very deliberate paths that are very time consuming. Jumping ship to leave WO and then Officer might not be worth the hassle. I would argue the amount less in pay of a WO 3/4 verses a field grade officer isn't worth the headache. Especially when one considers BAH.

As SGM pointed out 90A LG is kind of a hidden path as an LT doesn't start there, they come from the three feeder Branches of Quartermaster, Transportation, or Ordinance. We can squabble over which is better, but in the end all three take the same Captain's Career Course/CCC (required for Major) and once complete the CCC become Logistics and literally change the branch insignia on our ASU lapel.

At the end of the day a LT that started in QM or TN or OD that becomes a BC is potentially going to then command a mixture of LG companies anyway.

*****
Why I think QM is better.

Each and every MOS has it's perks. Like for instance combat MOS's have the macho factor and cool toys.

I started as Intel, and having a TS job in an air conditioned facility with internet access is pretty awesome down range even if all you are doing is twiddling your thumbs.

QM has first dibs on some good things like supplies, meals, and showers. Cooks, while everything thinks poorly of them are on par with medical MOS's when it comes to sanitation. So they always get showers right there with medical staff. If you are hooked up in a Shower company setting up showers, well, you then get showers no matter what, and basically whenever you want.

Transportation: Well, I don't know what the perk is of having access to trucks and trans assets. I'm sure there are some.

Ordinance: Well, OK guns and bombs can be fun to tinker around, but I honestly now knowing what I know would rather investigate why one of my QM trucks burn to the ground than have to investigate why a single 5.56 round went missing as an OD officer (joking but not really).

*******
The biggest hurdle I see in becoming an Warrant Officer, and then wanting to become an Officer is coming up with a conceivable career justification for the switch. I'm not saying it can't be done, and my Drill SGT asked me why I wanted to be a 40 year old 2LT (when I was a SPC, keeping my comments to myself of course, because I wouldn't' have to take crap from a 25 year old SGT), but that motivation becomes even more curious when asking why one wants to be a 2LT when they are a CW2(P).

You would need to attain a commission. Unless things have changed, the 90A AOC is designated to commissioned logistics branch officers (QM, OD and TC) after they complete the Logistics Officer Advance Course.

It's the idea of being a leader(CPT) in the logistics branch that does it for me. If I'm not mistaken once CPT your in a leadership role for QM, OD & TN combined in the logistics branch. I like the sound of that. I'm more likely to make warrant officer before I get my bachelor's degree to become a 90A (No degree currently). I can get the WO knowledge as the SME while getting my degree, become a 90A(assuming my 920B WO experience would have me commissioned at a higher rank than 2LT).

SGT (Join to see) you will have to attend OCS and BLOC and it is highly unlikely that you will commission at higher rank.

SGT (Join to see) I recommend that you choose OCS due to your rank. You will probably have your degree before you meet WO 920A pre reqs.
