Heading to Fort Bliss in October. I’m a 92A and I know I can be apart of any unit there. I just want to know what to expect as an 92A I have only been in Motorpool operations.

Bless your soul if you head to 2/1 AD. Just be prepared for a lot of field problems and hot weather. Oh...and wind storms. Those are fun. Best of luck.

no heat or wind in October. Just understand the folks there only know how to drive on dry roads.

SSG (Join to see) I was the #40 soldier assigned to 2/1AD prior to them standing up at Ft. Bliss. Were you there when 2/1 AD was the Army's dedicated testing brigade? Talk about your field problems! LOL!!!
SGT (Join to see), preach sister! You ever see them drive when there's a dusting of snow? I like to use the term "Mad Maxian" to describe it. LOL!

No.
yes West Texas and NM drivers only know how to drive on dry pavement. Pour a glass of water on the road and their would be a pile up of cars.

I can't speak to what you will end up doing, but its a very big post with associated training areas, and lots of Mech rolling around, so I'm sure your skills will be in demand.
As others have noted, it's hot, stupid hot, but if you're good with dry heat, you won't mind it much (but seriously...drink water!). The post probably has the best amenities in the Army since they dropped a couple billion on the place over the last 15 years--the new hospital alone cost over 1.4 billion dollars! And the surrounding city of El Paso has whatever it is you would be looking for...unless what you're looking for is greenery or water.

I don’t mind the heat but I’ll try to drink more water than I do now so I can get use to the dryness.

MAJ Byron Oyler Somehow I never made my way there. Intended to, but never did. Did however make my way to White Sands (not just the training areas). Not green, but at times otherworldly.

Once you show up to your unit. Look for our office, building 2D on Pershing Rd.
