Pros. You can go to alot of badge producing schools, the job you do will directly affect peoples lives. You will always be an airborne unit. And with the small field will be able to navigate to some really cool ones. 1/1 sfg in okinawa, 1/10 sfg in germany, 173 ibct italy. And of course all the secret squirrel ones. Oh. Military free fall school is a plus in this column too.

Cons. You will have to re class as a specialist. Sergeants are inspectors who require at least two years of experience prior to working as an inspector. (At least for personnel pack) as stated before the field is small. Promotions become incredibly competitive above e-6. The work you do is monotonous and its very possible to feel unappreciated.

I can attest to my limited experience as junior enlisted in the Army Reserve. You obviously have some interest in the field but just a little "brochure" background of the job. There are three main aspects of the field from a school perspective 1) Personnel Parachute Packing 2) Aerial Delivery 3) Parachute maintenance. You'll mostly be in a warehouse environment and field environments for jump/airdrop operations.
For the Pros:
There are opportunities in the MOS to advance all the way up in rank and also great opportunities to go to WOC school. Compared to a lot of MOSs the community is rather small so you'll encounter some great people throughout your career. Duty stations support Airborne personnel/operations and there's opportunity to support Special Operations units. Opportunities for "badge" schools such as pathfinder, HALO, jumpmaster. If you have an interest in civilian skydiving, the job can provide a huge advantage to becoming a FAA certified parachute rigger. I see you're a 92A, so you'll still be in some aspect of the Army Logistics world. Most importantly you get to be a U.S. Paratrooper and you get a cool red baseball cap :)
Cons:
Hours can be long dependent on mission. The job itself is rather repetitive and can be monotonous at times. The work itself has little autonomy - Not trying to dig at any leadership since this structure aides in safety and efficiency. Since the community is so small, you may find yourself going to the same typical duty stations in your career (FT Bragg, FT Benning, etc) and may encounter the same bad apples but that can be typical of any MOS.
Major con - you have to go back to FT Lee for a lot of the schools :) I'm j/k

Overall in my experience I loved it. I encountered some brilliant and genuinely great people. I think I had some of the best leaders in the US Army even though I was in the Reserve. I had the sense of belonging to an elite unit compared to a lot of the USAR units and even when compared to active duty. Hopefully this helped a little!

I’m thinking about reclassing to 92R as well. I’m a Reservist, so it’s the only job that would guarantee me to go Airborne and jump every three months. Hopefully someone can provide an answer.

Yes you are guaranteed airborne school in fact you have to graduate airborne school before they will send you to AIT because you can’t be a leg and pack parachutes.
