Thats the Army for you PO2 Robert Aitchison. Fort Hood was/is the largest military installation in the world with more than 35000 soldiers there and with dependents and civilians that number swells to three times that amount. There are miles upon miles of roads to patrol and it seems to me the bike was a good choice.

Sure didn't have those in our unit (412th MP CO, 759th MP BN) at Fort Dix, NJ in 1972-3! They look sharp, but I suppose they'd be put up for winter (snow and ice).

Yes, i did my last assignment with the 89th MP Bde at Fort Hood just prior to retiring in 96 COL David Turk. Would have been nice to see something similar then. I have fond memories of Fort Dix! Well not really!
