The old NSG facility in Wash DC called the Nebraska Ave Complex was a girls school before WWII. It is now DHS HQ similar to the Pentagon. NSG brook the WWII Japanese code there. Funny thing, on the other side on Nebraska Ave....is the Japanese Embassy, moved there in the 1980 or 90s...

Nebraska Avenue is also where the NSA COMSEC organization was located from its inception until the late 60s. This is the "code-making" part of NSA. They had a number of huge printing presses and very large, superfast computers there to produce and print the different types of codes in use (code books, one-time pads, etc.). It moved to Fort Meade in the late 60s. Sometime in the mid-90s, NSG moved to Fort Meade and took over a large part of the NSA COMSEC Building (OPS 3), so they were once again co-located.
