Whats the active duty electronic warfare officer landscape like?

After 14 years in the National Guard (12 as a combat engineer and 2 as an electronic warfare specialist) I'm putting some serious consideration into going active duty and direct commissioning as an electronic warfare officer after I finish my degree in less than a year.

There is no longer an option for an Officer on active duty to go directly into EW. As of FY 19, we are now 17B instead of 29 Series. Only personnel who were already EW Officers have been pulled into the 17B population. All future accessions will come from Cyber Officers that start as 17A and choose to branch out into EW (17B).
