I hope that Warrant Officers are getting more respect than they were forty+ years ago. A lot of people didn't even know the purpose of having Warrant Officers, because they are neither Enlisted nor Officers, and nobody was even sure how to address them. My first boss was a CW3, and was just called Mr. Kirby, even though he was in charge of our whole unit.

Warrant officers (in the army, at least) have a reputation for being almost mythical. Like the unicorn, it is rare to ever see one, and no one will believe you without pictures.
