A friend of mine gave me a zippo lighter from a Marine unit, hoping I could find and return it to its original owner.
* Front BODY: Patch/Logo “HMM 165”
(White Knights) - Marine aviation unit
* Front Lid engraved:
USMC
2148658. <=== Service Numer?
* Rear Lid engraved:
NAM
* Lighter Rear BODY engraved:
Phu Bai
68
Any old Devil Dogs out there have any suggestions? I have repaired the lighter, and replaced the internals with a full new insert directly from Zippo.

Thank you. I hope to eventually get this momento from his Vietnam service back to him, if he’s still alive, or to his family.

Does anyone know if it is possible to track down the owner based on just his service number?
