Are Soldiers in the IRR exempt from the 1095-day ADOS limit?

After conducting research (and experience), I know Reservists are only supposed to do up to 1095 days of AD service in a 4-year window. I was curious if this also applied to IRR Soldiers ,as I have a sweet ADOS opportunity (unfortunately I'm already near the limit). If I'm not exempt from the rule, I will just go Active Duty instead of wasting this unit's time.

Why would being on IRR change that regulation? If you read AR 135-200, it is pretty clear that it applies to all NG and RC soldiers. There are ways to have the 1095 day max waived, but in my experience it rarely happens (unless the position is already authorized to have a soldier go over 1095). If you are trying to get a deployment in, as you replied to 1SG (Join to see) , those orders should not be ADOS anyways (at least all my deployment orders are not), and therefore would not count towards the 1095.

Roger, I read the regulation but was having a lot of conflicting answers from other people stating that IRR was exempt due to technicalities, which contradicted what I read. I was just verifying online to see if anyone who had experience would know firsthand, since it's not a common occurrence for anyone to reach the ADOS limit.

Is was on ADOS for 3 years. There’s an exception to the 1095 day rule via the DCS, G-1. But, good luck getting one.

IRR is irrevalent to the 1095 day rule. It’s about end strength/numbers. Over 1095 days and you count towards RA strength not AR strength. DCS, G1 is authority to allow movement in strength from AR to RA. SGT (Join to see)

If just going Active Duty is one of the choices you are considering, then why not just do that instead of even considering ADOS and remaining in the Reserve?

SFC Squires, I was just wanting to get a deployment in before going Active Duty. It's just a preference because I don't really like being an E5 with actual experience. Especially if I go Infantry.

You realize that probably everyone you might have under your team, as well as at least half of the E5s in your unit won't have deployment experience? The majority of deployments over the recent years have been instruction and OC/T missions involved in the training of Afghan national forces. Typically these are more senior NCOs.
I don't think that going into AD status with a slick sleeve will be a detractor. It is more important how well you know basic soldiering skills and how effecting you are with building a team that uses them under your guidance to become proficient. You will have plenty of feedback from seniors who have been there,

1SG (Join to see) Roger, I understand that is likely to be the case. I suppose I let my nerves get the best of me sometimes. I guess the combo of being a Reservist and lacking experience makes me feel like I news to prove something. I'll start reviewing basic Soldiering skills, reading the TMs, FMs, maintaining my PT, etc..It'll be a rough transition most likely, but I guess sometimes you just have to swim or drown. I appreciate the response , it truly cooled my nerve!
