I’ve been out 2 years and wanting to come back in. I was honorably discharged as a Sgt. I know you have to submit a packet and the board has to approve, but I was curious to know if it was possible to go from recruiting station to 79V course? Or would I have to join a TPU first then apply? Thanks

You usually have to join USAR or ARNG to apply for AGR positions. But, as I understand it, 79S, 79R and AS1 4 have a very high pickup rate for 79T and 79V.

But you should realize you have more control over your control in AD. As an RCCC, 79T, or 79V, you might be sent to somewhere else in the US. It's not the guaranteed hideout people think it is

If you are currently IRR, it might be easier for you. I would contact the local Career Counselor at the reserve center. From there, you will need to talk the Area Leader and the SGM for that command. Hiring for Army Reserve Careers Division is started at the Area Leader and SGM level.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
