Challenge Coins: A Military Tradition

When I married my bride, as we walked back down the aisle following the ceremony, I slipped her a challenge coin that said, "Special Forces Wife." She knew in advance that I would be doing that, so it passed from my hand to hers without anyone noticing. As my SF friends came through the reception line with their wives, my bride, who had been a Special Forces wife for all of five minutes, challenged each wife. There were some piss off wives, pissed at their husbands because they'd been married for decades and hadn't received one yet, while my bride an I hadn't even cut the cake yet and she had hers.
