what is sad is when your body starts telling you need water now and your canteens/bottles are empty. So thirst make you take a short cut, hell it is only a sip or two. The problem is that will do it, just a sip or two. I have seen guys who knew better drink a some water because they told themselves it was clear. Cost for a membership to that club is not only expensive but its just not fun.

I remember a mission the boys and I had in South America we found out after everyone on the team was getting sick after we got sloppy and started drinking fresh juice at breakfast. It was great, but it was cut with tap water. So we all paid the a little luckily the medic had lots of meds and lots of advice. What is sad this was not a any of our first rodeo, we were all very experienced and knew better but all that exotic fruit juice apparently to good to pass up. Lesson learned the hard way as are most of mine.

Be wary of iced drinks as well... you don’t know where that ice came from.

Look up why the British Raj drank gin & tonic :-)

Wayne when I was a young buck I started using water purification tabs, or a couple drops of chlorine in a canteen. If it was real bad i would boil it, I learned early water procurement only counts if you can drink it. Wayne I am sure you know but there is some stuff out there that will make you very sick.

Yup... i’ve drunk many a gallon of clorox flavored water (koolaid or gatoraid does a lot to kill the taste)...

I also carry water purification tabs for when the water is really murky.

FWIW... i carry one (1) three-liter bladder that i hang from a tree-branch overnight & three (3) one-liter bladders that i fill in the morning from my hanging bag.

The hanging bag is like my lister bag.

hahaha I love wayne reading your response you can tell that is not something you just heard about. hahahaa yes you are right about koolaid or gatoraid killing a lot of the taste. i remember this one place in central america the water at the FOB had so much chlorine in it would kind of make you a little sick. It made it much harder to choke it down.
