Had a discussion RP about the possibility of a Sniper Tab, this lead into the Jungle Tab/Patch. I also referenced the Arctic Tab, the new R & C Devices, the rumor about the master badges, & the upcoming EAB.
Do you think we have too many awards? Are the other MOS' trying to play catch up to the Infantry and Medics? Should we bring back old awards & badges?

A friend of mine built a very successful sales team of housewives selling beauty products to friends and family. The secret of her success, she claimed, is that she acknowledged behaviors that led to success rather than waiting for success to reward them with money. Believe it or not, she kept a board with each woman's name and posted a gold star at weekly meetings for those she wanted to acknowledge. Yes, just a simple self-adhesive gold foil star like you might have gotten in school. The simple fact, she explained, is that no one had rewarded these women since they left school and they responded like schoolgirls. Yes, recognition is that important. We human beings crave it. A pat on the back. A gold star. A certificate of achievement. Tabs. Awards and decorations. They really are that important.

American Defense Service Medal is the only one that comes to my mind as one we could bring back. Army of Occupation (not since Berlin Wall came down) Recondo or Injun Scours??? I don't think so.

The Pershing tab, that system did push the Soviets to the creation of the INF Treaty. If a Pershing soldier is still serving, let them display their part in history proudly.

CPL Rick Stasny - I thought that was an interesting Tab. I think right now we have 10. Special Forces, Ranger, Sapper, President's Hundred, Airborne, Mountain, Jungle Expert, Arctic, and Band.
Though someone correct me if I'm wrong three of those, Airborne, Mountain, and Band you get those by being attached to those units right? Of course Band you have to actually be a Musician to be attatched. You don't actually have to go through Mountain or Airborne training to wear that Tab if you are attached or deploy with that unit right?

Medals, awards and badges all are great and look good when wearing your dress uniform. For me personally I preferred promote ahead of peers on my counseling than an atta boy award.
