I like Dopps statement about making things work more effective and efficiently! We should set all the animals to roam free, out a gun and bow in every house hold and go back to hunting animals! Hahaha I see that being the healthiest and safest for both animals and humans ;)

Wow. We are talking kill lines. In other words how many chickens lose their heads. This is generally a line of 30 or so people. Meaning they are killing several per hour. Even on a small kill line of ten that's about 19 per hour. We used to have to catch them before we killed them.
I would be more worried about what they are being fed. There are still some using growth hormones. I stay away from store bought chickens.

Sounds like the faster line speed is already in effect at some plants. What are the statistics regarding worker injuries or failures in screening for unsuitable meat?

175 birds per minute is (basically) 3 birds per second, seems like an awful lot. I would expect any change to the existing speeds (which were in place for years before the Obama administration) would be supported by data.
