Welcome to The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Good “Sunday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 26 June 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Define Day!” Why Not?

“How does a leader define themselves? There are many ways to establish and define a leader. Three defining ways to establish a true leader that everyone will follow are: Being dependable, resourceful, and approachable. Leaders need to take on new responsibilities, lead from the front, and be the best listener and communicator they can be. Leaders are built and defined by their thoughts, grit, actions, and their desire to accomplish every mission. How would you define yourself as a leader?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect your listening capability is increasing and you ponder before speaking. No doubt you routinely count the cost before committing your time talents and treasure and readily accept responsibilities assigned to you by God and man. Enable and empower each of us to be calm in crises and guide each of us to help others become calm. Let YOUR love cleanse each of us and YOUR peace empower us to bring calm into crises and areas of turmoil. 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.' [John 14:27 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen

I pray for discernment, compassion, and a focus on selfless service and sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit goodness, humility, and self-control for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. Enable us to be better listeners. I hope that you are content with your circumstances and progress and yet striving to improve. I expect that you are honest, fair in judgement, and you display moral courage as stand up for others. I pray that you and I are effective, hopeful, decisive when required. 'Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance. [Philippians 4:11-12 ESV]

By YOUR grace, YOU replenish the fruit within our soul as it is used by YOU for YOUR purpose and glory. No doubt you, like I, hope for the second coming of the LORD while praying HE delays until each of our loved ones who we have earnestly prayed for will acknowledge their need for salvation. This has been the hope of brothers and sisters in Christ since the risen Christ rose to the Father and the Holy Spirit came to dwell with the soul of each adopted child of God. ‘For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.’ [Philippians 1:21-24 ESV]

I lift pro-life counseling centers, elected governors, elected legislators, supreme court justices, judges, pastors and clergy and other generally peaceful pro-life people to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU shine YOUR cleansing light through each of YOUR own and open doors for communication. ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation.' [Psalm 51:10-12]

I pray for peace and comfort for each one grieving tonight including widows, widowers, spouses and children of those missing in action, the homeless, and the outcasts of society dear LORD. I pray that YOU punctuate their grief with joy in YOUR perfect timing. I thank YOU for raising good listeners to come alongside and meet them at their needs for human companionship. I pray that YOU bless the family members of MIA with a large measure of peace and joy as they wait for news about their MIA loved one and closure. Enable them to lean on YOU as they grieve while waiting for a knock on the door. I pray that YOU guide those searching for remains to remains of MIA to find, identify and recover the remains and effects in YOUR perfect timing. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight'. [Romans 12:15-16 ESV]

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and each will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Kerry and thanks for posting on Sunday morning. We all have defining moments. Sometimes we don't see them except in retrospect. So it is for about a third of mine. The rest have all been very conscious choices on my part. I am happy to say that they are all pretty consistent with my beliefs and I have few if any regrets except perhaps that I did not choose as quickly as I might have early on. I find the older I get the easier those choices become as I am more and more sure of where I stand when those choice points arise.

Thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) for posting the “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day! for Sunday, June 26, 2022.

“Define Day!”
I am a husband of one wife, a father of adult sons, an adopted child of God, a retired Army officer, a disabled veteran, a prayer warrior, a pro-life social conservative who supports freedom of speech, worship, the second amendment
1. By God's grace my leadership has been focused on service to and on behalf of those I have been responsible for soldiers, government civilians, to friends and family. My goal and aspiration is to be a servant leader modeled after the selfless service of our LORD and Savior Jesus the Christ.
2. As I matured and responsibility was delegated to me, I learned the importance of sharing the work load of leadership with trustworthy individuals including NCO's, qualified junior enlisted and later subordinate officers. Delegating authority while retaining responsibility helps to fulfil 'the buck stops here.' Nobody's Fault But Mine.
3. My British expatriate parents demonstrated servant leadership for me and my younger sisters at home and at work. They inculcated many noble values into my character and my sisters - respect for each person, dedication to serving and encouraging others.
a. As a servant leader I guided, encouraged, and motivated my unit's soldiers, NCOs and DA civilians to achieve more that could be expected. By God's grace with HIS guidance, I shaped these organizations into excellent teamwork organizations.
b. I learned to be a servant leader as a cadet at the United States Military Academy, at West Point.
c. I lead my family as a servant leader devoted to serving them.

Quotes:
1. Olivia Wilde 'I think its healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person'
2. Neal Boortz 'The key to accepting responsibility for your life is to accept the fact that your choices, every one of them, are leading you inexorably to either success of failure, however you define those terms.'
3. Denzel Washington 'The chances you take… the people you meet… the people you love...the faith that you have - that’s what’s going to define your life.'
4. C. JoyBell C. 'It's not the law of religion nor the principles of morality that define our highways and pathways to God; only by the Grace of God are we led and drawn, to God. It is HIS grace that conquers a miultitude of flaws.

Scriptures
Scriptures
a. Colossians 4:5-6 ESV 'Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
b. 2 Corinthians 10:17-18 ESV 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.' For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.’
c. Hebrews 13:1-3 ESV ‘Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body’
d. Ephesians 4:29-32 ESV ‘Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.’
e. 1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV 'As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.'
f. 1 Timothy 4:12 ESV 'Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.'
g. Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
